John Brady TD’s posts

My daughter is a student nurse, when on placement she was on the frontline working in a ward. She contracted Covid19, her grandfather ended up in ICU as he subsequently contracted it once it got into the house. Like all other student nurses all she gets is a round of applause😡

Large groups of America tourists doing the Bray/Greystones Cliff Walk today. This is crazy, Irish people are being told to avoid all nonessential foreign travel. In the US a new high of 69,000 new Covid cases was set today, yet they can travel here freely 😡

We have forced a massive shift on the position of the Irish Government. They have stated that Israel has de-facto annexed Palestinian lands. Ireland is 1st EU country to state Israel’s actions break international law. There must be consequences for these actions #FreePalestine

So, my daughter who is a student nurse is due to go on placement on Monday to a hospital that was locked down due to Covid-19. During her last placement in October she contracted Covid-19, at least this time she’ll get €2.85 an hour for her troubles😡 #insult

Tonight’s decision by the Dáil to unanimously support the motion declaring that Israel has illegally annexed Palestinian lands is historic, Ireland is the first country to state that. We need to use that mandate to hold Israel to account for their crimes 🇵🇸✊🏻🇮🇪

Tonight’s passing of the motion on the illegal annexation of Palestinian lands by Israel, is a historic moment,a victory for justice & a recognition of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination. Focus now needs to be on the consequences for Israel

So Katherine Zappone lobbied Coveney, Pascal Donohoe & Varadkar for a job. Early March she was offered a job by Coveney, on 23 March Dept then set about to create a position for her. She wrote up her own job description, even proposing an extension from 1-2 years.

So for standing up for human rights & against the apartheid regime of Israel, I’m called ‘toxic’ by former Fine Minister Alan Shatter. I will never stop speaking up for the rights of Palestinians & against the illegal actions of Israel🇮🇪🇵🇸 #freepalastine

International law is not a pick & mix.If it is mean anything it must be implemented equally.Ireland has declared that Israel has broken International Law by Annexing Palestinian territory. We must be consistent in our position on International Law, violators must not be rewarded

Sinn Fein are opposing much needed extra gas for the EU - because it comes from Israel. They really do oppose everything, even when it will help ordinary Europeans.

Interview today with CNN. Irish people stand with the Palestinian people because we know what it is to have the yoke of oppression & colonization around our neck. #FreePalestine

“Irish people know what it is to have the oak of colonization around our neck. Therefore we acknowledge and stand shoulder to shoulder with the oppressed people in Palestine.” @johnbradysf as Ireland’s parliament condemns Israel’s actions as ‘de facto annexation’.

So #RTÉ bring on Eddie Hobbs to attack Sinn Fein and warn about our ‘threat’ to the economy. Not sure he’s the best to give any financial advice🤷🏻‍♂️or indeed political advice, how’s Renua going? #cblive

Absolutely outrageous suggestion from a Fianna Fáil Senator that some questions today at the Foreign Affairs Committee to the Israeli Ambassador were anti-Semitic. Asking questions about annexation, the right to return & the blockade of Gaza aren’t anti-Semitic.
31

I’m an elected Sinn Fein public representative for the last 17 years. Never once was I asked my religion, rightfully so too as it’s nobody else’s business. What right has or anyone else got to make assumptions about my or anybody else’s religion, then try politicise it

Israeli Forces Arrest & Terrify Palestinian Children For Picking Fruit! 5 Children between the ages of 8-12 were arrested, south of Al-Khalil (West Bank). Another clear violation of international law, yet its another daily occurrence for Palestinians.

Israeli jets bombing Gaza again this evening. A new ‘change’ government, but not unexpectedly there is no change in the brutal bombardment of Palestinians. The Apartheid Israeli state has a new leader, the ethnic cleansing continues #GazaUnderAttack

So Wicklow TD’s Matthews, Donnelly & Harris all voted not to end the exploitation of our student nurses & midwives. They voted not to pay them while working on the frontline during the covid pandemic. The final vote was 79 not to pay them & 72 to pay them. Shameful stuff!

So, Ministers travelling abroad for St Patrick’s Day this year have been banned from flying first class, hiring limousines or using hotel suites. Why is this year an exception and not the norm🤷🏻‍♂️

So Fine Gael’s John Bruton thinks that Sinn Féin are using Irish unity purely for the next election. Wow, we have been campaigning for the next election for 100 years now. #cblive

The wisdom of Leo Varadkar never ceases to amaze me🤔 ‘I am willing to talk to Sinn Fein so I can tell them why I won’t talk to them. I don’t know why they won’t meet me.’ 🤣🤣#rtept

Following the decision by Russia to sanction 52 Irish politicians, I believe that the Irish Government must finally move to expel the Russian Ambassador to Ireland. Strong message must be sent in response to the Russian moves.

Fianna Fáil are now saying they want to do something about Pensions now that it has become an election issue🤣 Sinn Fein are the only party to bring forward legislation to abolish mandatory retirement & to stop the pension age hike to 67 #GE2020

So Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael & the Greens have managed to set two records in one week. 11,542 people homeless. 931 people lying on hospital trolleys. Shame on them! The longer they stay in power the more hurt & pain they are inflicting on people.

So it has emerged that Fine Gael weren’t in compliance with Data rules, but hey RTÉ still trying to do a hatchet job on Sinn Fein. Looking forward to Leo getting grilled on that & the criminal investigation into him. Absolutely appalling questioning, should we be surprised🤷🏻‍♂️

So the Dáil has voted to give the 3 Super-Dee-Duper Junior Ministers a pay hike of €16,288. Slap in the face for the thousands that are having their Covid Welfare payments cut😡

So 51 people have a 50% say in Fine Gaels decision to enter government, whilst their 255 Cllrs have a 15% say.Ordinary members have no vote. They say they have an issue with Sinn Fein’s structures🥴 At least we believe in the bedrock of the democratic process, 1 man/woman =1 vote

The partition of Ireland is nothing to celebrate, it is a disaster, economically, socially & politically . The President was right to turn down the invite, not surprised that those who want to rejoin the Commonwealth are to attend. Wrong decision

Gas to see the Labour leader Alan Kelly has no confidence in Phil Hogan now. He had every confidence in him when he continued the role out of water charges when he took over as Minister for the Environment.

So the leader of Fianna Fáil the party that crashed the economy is refusing to talk to Sinn Féin due to “irreconcilable” differences in economic policy🤣🤣🤣 Well Micheál Martin we live in a society and not an economy! It says more about your values than anything.

So both FF and FG are given an opportunity to get stuck into Sinn Fein in our absence. No right to respond. This is why they don’t want us there. This is absolutely disgraceful! Shameful stuff. I know people will see this for what it is. #vmtvbigdebate #GE20

For the last 3 weeks Sinn Féin have been pushing for a debate in the Dáil on the report that finds Israel guilty of the crime of apartheid. The debate will now take place next week. The Government must accept the evidence & state Israel is guilty of Apartheid.

Unbelievable interview with Mary Lou on Sinn Féin is focused on building a bright, better future for all, whilst some have a bleak agenda of keeping us in the past. Some find it hard to deal with change. But you can’t stop change, because it’s coming fast.

Simon Coveney misled the Foreign Affairs Committee yesterday on a number of grounds. He says he didn’t speak to Zappone when she was in Dublin or relay anything to her. Yet he clearly informed Varadkar that he spoke to her on the 19th July, when she was in Dublin.

So Sinn Fein, the 3rd largest political party, only a couple of % behind FG is excluded from the debate on rural Ireland! The RTE bias is unbelievable, also is it not a conflict of interest to have the sister of a FF TD/candidate as moderator?

Here’s a a pic of Sinn Féin TDs, Markievicz & Etchingham bullying a crowd at the Billy Byrne monument in Wicklow Town. The other pic is Eoin O’Duffy, former Fine Gael leader & his mates in their nice Blueshirts at a rally. One clearly is a normal party, the other clearly is not🤷🏻‍♂️

Absolutely honored to have been appointed to the frontbench by Mary Lou. I will be taking on the Foreign Affairs & Defence portfolio It’s a new portfolio for me, but one that I have a keen interest in & one where there are many issues & challenges ahead.

Born in 1921, John Joe McGirl joined the republican movement in the 30’s. In the 57 General Election he was 1 of 4 Sinn Fein TDs elected on an abstentionist ticket. He was elected as a SF Cllr in Leitrim in 1960 and held it until he died in 1988. One party since 1905 #revisionism

So the Dáil opposed a Sinn Fein proposal to cut short the planned 6 week summer break. There are many important issues that need to be discussed in the Dáil, they shouldn’t be forced to wait until 15th September. Shamefully FG, FF the Greens & ome Independents voted against it
