I'm believe strongly in decentralizing energy generation, but this seems to gloss over the massive amount of regulation that would need to be rewritten to enable the investment in and management of the flexibility the author is arguing for. @DistEnergyMgmt, what's your take?

The article mentions a number of “what ifs” that need to be addressed for micro grids to reach scale. Yes, microgrids can become a reality with those solved. They are big “what if’s” though.
