Do you mean, "hot social media site” startups?
Given all our society knows about how current social media sites fail, it's interesting that there are no "hot startups" in the space.

Yep. I think the reason is no one will fund them, and no one will join them (talent) bc we have stifling of innovation by oligarchy.

To that extent, any1 who looked like they may dent the duopoly would likely get taken out by massive amounts of $ these companies sit upon.

Yes. It takes ridiculous courage, and talent, to say no to FB AMZN GOOG APPL. Stripe comes to mind.
