    Hi Christina. Absolutely delighted that you've been elected GS. It shows officials CAN be elected to the highest office! We'll miss Dave but you'll be a brilliant successor. Unlike the US Presidency it'll be a seamless transition!

    So sad to hear about Richard's death. We always looked on him as the guru of education correspondents. He was a very wise and warm person. The last time I worked with him was when he wrote Doug McAvoy's obit for the Guardian. He was at the centre of chronicling ed reforms.
