Hmmm, something like that? I know metal glow rotation is not realistic but it might do the trick.pic.twitter.com/7ekUqbqx5f

I also added a tiny "purple" shadow to the opposite side of the glow.

Hah, you're not wrong! But it doesn't look half as good and doesn't really fit the theme... :)

Maybe split your sprite out in to highlight/valve/shadow, and then add a handle to the valve to indicate it's rotation? .p8 example: https://gist.github.com/omgmog/cbb42a7b3e0dab927a65a6010a2e1993 …pic.twitter.com/fIcy5oZeAI

Hmm... not bad. It clearly shows the turning, but a bit to jerky. Not sure adding inbetweens will help. Thanks though, def worth investigating.

Changing the shape of the valve from "+" to "-" makes it easier to animate. What do you think of this 4 frames animation ?pic.twitter.com/dqhqKP7ldK

Yes! Great stuff Mathieu. As always removing something from a complex situation solves it. Thanks!

Not bad. But I think the required speed is too fast to make sense in the game.
