A further question could be: "As a human I judge the life of all sentient beings to be taking place in a slaughterhouse?" That such as system has been in place for millions upon millions of years makes us humans wonder if a god is responsible, or chance, or an evil force?

Let's take it as given: there is no god, no universal will impelling change in the universe, but there was an accidental coming together of the ingredients of life, the DNA molecule.
If so, humanity has developed values which condemn the conditions of life on this planet.
