The human species was never quite sane even at the best of times and I see zero evidence that a century of psychiatry has done anything (except perhaps make the situation worse).

I've always been struck by tendency for certain people to apply Foucault's power principles to every institution except psychiatry. Question sacred psychiatry and get ostracized.
