It's easier said than done. Even if you relax and accept things as they are just a little bit, there is a relief from the low grade chronic stress of existence. Most ppl are subsequently pulled back into the struggle simply due to bad habits developed over one's lifetime.
Expectation and disappointment suck the energy out of everything.
Losing expectation and practicing detachment is hard at first, but is so satisfying that it becomes easy.
Well, that's been my experience anyway.
