The only traditionalists I respect are a Christian sect called The Shakers... they were well-known for making furniture + they followed the teachings of the Bible + were antinatalists. They never reproduced + adopted so many children out of hardships + gave them better futures.

I spent the past month obsessively reading up on the Shakers. I used to think the church I grew up in, while misled and detached from reality, was the best Christian sect. I've since changed my mind after learning about the Shakers. If I were religious, I may want to be a Shaker.

The Shakers are awesome. They have a branch of their church locally where I live. Apparently they adopted so many children in foster care + helped them establish their own businesses here in NZ. was telling me about his experience buying their furniture. Great people.

There used to be a village of Shakers in western Kentucky. They have since died out there. They were master woodworkers.
