I think atheists actually believe in God. People don't spend that much time and energy writing and debating against things that they know do not exist. You don't see organizations and literature and debates against the belief in Santa Claus or unicorns.

We aren't debating against God. We're responding to claims made by theists and when believers give their reasons for believing in a God we evaluate them
