Their first album was killer. Then, Ric Ocasek (of The Cars) got hold of them and tried to commercialize them and they never recovered. Their live sets from 1977-78 at CBGB's & Max's Kansas City are wild and unfiltered. Must have!

that's ridiculous, his second album is possibly his masterpiece, songs like Diamonds, Fur Coat ... or Sweetheart are worthy of his first album. The new equipment of Rev and Vega's voice was a magical moment, without Ocasek possibly that they would never have recorded again.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man lol. I got all their albums. Got a bunch of bootlegs, too. I've heard Vega say basically the same thing I said, that their 1st album is the one. And, it is. It's so unique. Let's hear it for Frankie

Respect about the best album, a matter of taste, but to say that Ocasek tried to commercialize them and that they never recovered.. lol Dream baby dream was produced by Ocasek in 1979, one of their anthems and the album Attempted at Max's 1980 captured Suicide at its core.
