My mother asked me about my medications + whether I'll take them for life... she's very anti-medications... I told her either I take them for life or I'm suicidal + can't leave my bed to do any normal day-to-day tasks. Functioning in this world is much harder than many ppl think.

If they balance you out and make you feel better, take them. You may reach a point later on in life when you don't need them anymore. Our bodies and minds are in an ever changing state of flux.

I feel much better on them. At least I can get out of bed, get assignments done. I enjoy reading and my hobbies. My nurse warned me about potentially committing suicide on them, I haven't had any symptoms - suicide doesn't even come to my mind.

You seem to me to be in a much better mood. If you're not experiencing any side effects, keep on doing what you're doing. If it aint broke, don't fix it (or change it).

No side effects other than being a bit impulsive with money, but I've started a savings chart + deleted my shopping apps so I don't overspend. I just need to sort out my sleep now + I need to lose weight.

Those are common problems that a lot of people have and they may not be caused by your medication. Correlation does not imply causation.

I never said they were, except for shopping. I've been more impulsive than usual + shopping like crazy since I got on meds, bc I'm so happy. But I am also on an antipsychotic mood stabiliser which causes insomnia according to my nurse. Bad sleep = so many other bad things for me.

I'm a terrible shopper. I've been known to need things and procrastinate buying them for years. I don't know what that's all about. I have issues. lol
