I know. But I'm saying in general, about the shit I keep hearing and have been hearing "chase your dream" , "get married". What dream !? I honestly don't have one, nor do I want one.

They do.. I hear it almost everyday. My parents even tell me to give them grandkids, apparently I owe it to them.

They're aware, but they don't care. I have tried to explain and make them see reason but it's like drawing on water. Also, according to them 24 is too young to decide not to have kids (but my 19 year old classmate wasn't too young to decide to have a kid)

My parents used to beat me black and blue and scream at me. That's when I suspected they didn't know what they were talking about. I left home at 18 yrs old. Lived on people's couches and in abandoned old buildings. It was better than living with them.

I think it was a good thing. Made me very resilient and self reliant. I wasn't looking for pity. Just trying to relate that I had problems with my parents, too. I haven't seen them in years. Don't care what nonsense they have to say.

I was just lost for words n my emotional intelligence is zero, so I went with the generic response..
I try not to let them get to me. I have become an expert in shutting them out. But sometimes I can't, nd I just vent out here.
