My parents being Middle Eastern have been talking a lot about the tragedies in Gaza. I am internally conflicted on this topic. Gaza is one of the most densely populated places on earth, even with scarcity + political instability, people still breed like crazy.

Life in Gaza or any other place that is politically or economically unstable is more reason for ppl to refrain from having children. People who experience the worst that life has to offer, still breed children to experience the horror of war crimes for their own selfish reasons.

People don't think. They just follow their biological urges. People don't take responsibility for their actions. They just pass the buck and put the blame on others. If their child suffers, they put the blame elsewhere instead of themselves.

I remember when my mother told me a story of a man in Gaza who was in an Israeli prison + how he gave his nephew a sample of his sperm in a jar for his wife to get pregnant. Arabs believe fertility is their only weapon against their oppressors. Its stupid + sad.

Many Middle Easterners are still tribal in their mindset. It's all about the honor of the tribe and the survival and perpetuation of the family name and so on.

I take both my father + grandfather's name as my middle names + hence have a long name. I can't name anyone past my 4th great grandfather. I always tell my family this + they agree w me. I told my mum I am celebrating the end of our bloodline bc finally our genes will have peace.
