Evolutionary pressures have made it pretty damn certain that ours will always be a minority position.
A tiny minority.

Well, unless the zombie apocalypse or something of the sort comes along.
Maybe then most people would say, "eww, bad existence to bring others into."
But, even then, I'm not so sure.
I think you're vastly underestimating the sheer power of the reproductive urge.
Maybe it will be for a while, but as soon as the population reduces to the point that the conditions becomes bearable people will begin to reproduce again
