Thatโs fair enough. Nothing is worse than seeing small towns or even rural places becoming populated with more people + becoming more gentrified. My city has one of the highest rising house rates bc other bigger cities will cost you a million dollars for a dump. More ppl suck.

Real estate prices are goin thru the roof right now here in the US. It's a seller's market.

My parents house cost abt $350k almost 10 yrs ago. Now a piece of land in this area is abt same price. Houses here are about $750K+. We hv a housing shortage + ppl living out of their cars. Govt is housing ppl in motels. Homeownership is going down. Only 40% of ppl r homeowners.

That sounds similar to current status in the US. Everything is goin up, up, up. Government spending regarding Covid is incomprehensible. Prices are inflating astronomically. It's one big fuckin economic bubble and it's gonna burst, sooner or later.

Agreed. Many of our homeowners are foreigners from China or India. Apparently, you cannot own property in China, you can only lease property for 80 years + it belongs to the govt. Our PM introduced a capital gains tax. One man who owned 50 properties was outraged by it.

I dont know who's buying what, anymore. I'm pretty isolated. Don't really watch or read much news either. Used to be a news junkie. I see a clip or two on Twitter. That's about it.
Fuck the world. I don't care anymore.

You arenโt depressed, I think you are indifferent to news bc itโs just the same depressing propaganda over + over again. My cousin told me her secret to looking young is not watching the news. Sometimes for the sake of ones mental health + sanity, not watching the news is best.

I dont even own a TV. I was referring more to the not caring about the world. If the whole planet goes up in smoke, I really dont care.

My bad. I donโt have my own TV either, aside from watching a little bit of TV with loved ones once in a blue moon, I havenโt watched TV since I was 18. I donโt care about the world either. Caring is emotional labour + mentally exhausting, not giving a fuck is proper self-care.

You care. Youre very conscientious about your work and self improvement and being active. When I read your tweets sometimes I'm like I dont know how you can expend all your energy on that stuff. But you say youll get depressed if you don't. And I respect that

I guess for me itโs a cope or itโs my perfectionism or internalised fears + I live in denial. That aside, I used to read a lot of geopolitical articles + listen to a tonne of informative podcasts + I havenโt done that in ages. I really have lost all interest in that.
