According to U.G., it's possible but not likely. He doesn't advocate any technique or practice to attain an idealized state of mind, enlightenment, or improved spiritual quality. He used to say, "There is no how."

Is the so called “natural state “ even possible for humans beyond their very early infancy?

I've read that before. Ramana pissed UG off in a big way. Lol. Which was just what he needed at the time. Later on in UG's life, he said Ramana was the real deal. I can't remember where I read it. Maybe it was one of UG's many, many videos...

UG does seem to respect Ramana Maharshi as a great teacher who taught nobody. That doesn't seem inconsistent with calling RM the real deal. (I'm not saying that UG never contradicted himself. Who doesn't?) I found this 72% of the way into the book (Mystique 72% cleared up)
Quote from The Mystique of Enlightenment, by UG Krishnamurti: "Ramana Maharshi at least was our contemporary -- we know something about him. He taught nobody, initiated nobody. Such a man does not depend upon the authority of anybody. Great teachers never use any authority, and they do not interpret the saints."

That book is old. It's compiled from his talks in the 1970s. He lived (and talked) another 30 years. He claimed no rights to any of his books. They used to be all online. Here's some confirmation of what I was saying:

Ramana Maharishi is the real Mccoy. Many years later UG says " He was the best of the bad lot of spiritual teachers".
