When drug addicts check into rehab, they expect treatment. Instead they get a religion shoved into their face - Alcoholics Anonymous - which has a success rate no higher than placebo. This would be unacceptable for any other medical condition, so why is it OK for drug addiction?

Imagine paying up to $10K for a treatment that works no better than placebo for any other medical condition. The rehab industry needs an overhaul, and AA replaced with evidence-based treatment.

How much does it cost to be in AA? $10K?

AA is free. Rehabs based on AA cost $7-20K. Even though they have the exact same success rate as placebo. Rehabs are just a way to scam rich people out of money.

These rehab facilities are using AA as a form of therapy? The rehab facilities are not run by AA?
I've known people who have converted to Christianity & stopped drinking (an uncle & bro in law). Im assuming AA has the same kind of effect but in its own way.
