I swear to god my first memory is when I'm around 2 or 3 years old & my mom is being a total bitch to me and I remember thinking to myself, "How in the hell did I get into this situation?" Maybe not exactly in those words, but that was the gist of my thought.

One of my first memories is my dad beating me with a belt. I was about 3. Other fun early memories include the sperm donor locking himself in the bedroom with a gun threatening suicide (wish the coward had gone through with it) and knocking over the Christmas tree.

Yes. I feel your pain. Beatings with a belt or stick or whatever was common. No threats of suicide, though.
