You can't do anything. Everything is determined by antecedent events.

You wouldn't feel regret then (at least, not in the sense that you could have done a thing different)

As a determinist, you can feel regret even tho there's nothing you could've done about it. You could regret not being born more intelligent or not being better looking or not being born into wealth and or being born with chronic health problems and so on.
