Right. That's why I said "in this case, society's regulated system". People are born into whichever society and they become "institutionalized", just like prisoners in a penal system.

"Happiness" is held out there like a carrot on stick in front of a donkey. But I don't know any who have attained it. Most people I meet are angry, frustrated, bitter, worried, sick, broke, depressed, scared, etc., etc. Do you know anyone who's happy?

yep, I've seen some ignorant and/or religious folks that seem to be happy or extremely ecstatic at least in phases of their lives.

Perhaps, but I have seen that the ignorant ones are generally blissful unless they have a pressing problem on their hands.
