It's no accident that nearly any living thing that lays eyes on us or gets a whiff of a human being bristles with fear, runs in the other direction or is ready to kill us to protect its young. What other creature is more feared & destructive, or even close?

Humans have no niche in nature. Everything we come in contact with is degraded or destroyed. We are alien to the natural scheme of things.

I noticed. There's a book I found interesting, but I've heard it denounced, "The Beginning Was The End," by Oscar Maerth, who made a case for cannibalism causing humans to exponentially outgrow their capacity to etc. etc. - the whole mean-apes-w/advanced-weapons thing. Whatever.
