I read somewhere that Ligotti has quit writing

May be he just thought that writing is an optimistic action!!! So better to quit then! Chapeau to him it this is the case!

I remember him saying in an interview that he suffered from anhedonia. Perhaps what little bit of satisfaction he got out of writing had withered away.
