i'm sure you're right about this (distraction (of course) - what strikes me is the simplicity of the question and my inability to answer - same with ie; "who are you"? (and then i see how much time i waste / not knowing these things)

Oh, absolutely. Since pondering "what am I seeking?", I have been unveiling a lot of false and deluded thinking & rationalization, on my part. Most people operate unquestionably, like automatons or zombies, functioning mindlessly.
