Ive been into UG for over 20 yrs. I sometimes go back & review him & usually pick up on something that I didn't get before. He was a deep thinker. He actually met Ramana Maharshi. He said Ramana made him so mad that he just stomped off & left the ashram. ha!

Ramana Maharshi was not a phony. UG later admitted it. When he went to see him, he asked Ramana if he could give him moksha (liberation). Ramana said "I can, but, can you receive it?" UG stalked off, fuming. haha It's reminiscent of T'ang Dynasty Zen mondo.

UG was just a young man at the time. This was back in the 1940s. He had been part of the Theosophical Society, like Jiddu Krishnamurti, but left. He went to see Ramana but he wasnt ready. But it stuck with him & later in life he realized the old man was right
