I don't think being nihilist implies one is catatonic. Haha. Many people are nihilist & they dont even know it. They dont believe in anything. People do what they do, like watch TV, because it triggers chemicals in the brain which are pleasurable.

Wait since when is there such a thing as a true nihilist, no one is truly a nihilist. Why would you do anything then, it's a self defeating proposition. I have suffered through a nihilistic phase. I mean anything you do would have some sort or meaning even watching a t.v show

Well depends on how you define nihilism and meaning, nihilists are not people who don't believe in anything. They're people that believe that everything is meaningless. I mean mentally you can believe that but unconsciously and your body doesn't believe it.

Your body is just chemicals reacting to its environment. It's a biological machine. No deep philosophical search for meaning there. It's all stimulus & response. The same can be said for the "mind", which is the brain. Hit me with some dopamine says the brain
