Some scientists suggest that the purpose of life is to make the gradient of energy flow from the sun less steep, thus dispersing energy more slowly by capturing its energy and doing a slow burn, i.e living. That's why we don't like to explode into flame. edge.org/response-detai

You're welcome. I can't say it has given meaning to my life, but it may explain why the prospect of dispersing energy more rapidly -- by getting out of bed, for example -- often appears so daunting.
