His understanding of AN is simplistic. AN is not just about ending suffering. It is about the unethical practice of forcing others into this human experiment. People are gambling with other people's lives. It's obnoxious and sadistic to do so.
I think he deems AN simplistic in that it focuses exclusively on individual's interest to avoid suffering (by not existing) without taking into account all sentient beings' interest in not suffering if we (or our descendants) can evolve to the point of conquering suffering 4 all.
