I thought years ago that I should learn to use my left hand, to be ready in case I ever have an accident. I tried to get used to learn with a book upside down so nobody would know what I read hehe, why don't more people do 'crazy' stuff like this? It's such a routine...

I remember going to the brothers houses for dinner. We would sit on the floor and everyone would partake of the food but with their right hand only. Left hand was off limits. Also, when entering the masjid, right foot is always first, masha'allah.

We would all dip our hand in the same plate of food and eat. I remember thinking to myself that this didn't seem very hygienic.

I know it's normal in Arab/Muslim cultures. But it's not normal when you're born and raised in the USA. We use individual plates & forks & knives, etc., to eat from. Haha. But I enjoyed learning about the Muslims. It was a whole 'nother world.
