(3) How disappointed I was! Nostradamus' prophecy didn't come true, either. While the world is around, we -- at least I -- have to live on. While I live, I have to keep on doing something to bring food on the table and to minimize the misery of my own and of others around me.

This is MIT. This ain't no superstitious religious bullshit. So far, their computer is right on target.

I sincerely hope so.

(1) To me, science and religion boils down to the same thing in that people want to believe what they want to believe. They used to believe what religion told them because it was the highest authority they knew back then. Today, science seems to have superseded it.

(7) Maybe I shouldn't have said anything to you this time. I thought you were the kind of guy that didn't hesitate to say things frankly, at least not to your fellow antinatalists. But maybe I've spoiled your joy over this MIT news. If I offended you, I'm terribly sorry.

No offense taken, my friend. You say there is no difference between religion & science. I don't feel up to the task of trying to teach you what science is opposed to religion. Science is based on evidence. Religion is not. What else can I say? Google it?

Are you trying to be deliberately condescending by stating the obvious? Of course I know everybody BELIEVES that science is based on facts. But they just BELIEVE so. You of all people should know that people just BELIEVE so. But that doesn't mean that it is necessarily true.

Have you taken decades of years to PROVE that all of science is based on facts and evidence? All scientists, being human, are biased and unconsciously opt for the kinds of evidence that suit their preconceived ideas. That's precisely what I wanted to say.
