Personally, I believe determinism is a lie people choose to believe so as to abdicate away their own part they play for the situations they're in. Pushing the responsibility onto something or someone else that they can blame and foster resentment against.

Determinism is based on the laws of physics. There is a causal connection for everything. There's no evidence that there's part of a sentient being which is free from this causal chain. "Free will" is magical, mythical thinking, rooted in ancient superstition
Determinism is true. Your argument is delusional. It's people who believe in free will who seek to cast blame on others for their bad luck. Determinists understand that all are the product of genetics and environmental conditioning.
