I think some are snake oil salespeople & others are just deluded people wanting it so bad they are deceiving themselves (and others). Yes, religion is based on fear. Capture the ppl's fear ("ur going to hell") & you can rule over them & fleece them, too.

I see a lot of consumers in stores that look to me like they are possessed by spirits or demons or whatever you wanna call it. They look crazed.

I'm not a good consumer. I hardly buy anything unless I really need it. I don't have TV. Havent had it for over a decade. I gave almost all of my furniture away to the locals. I'm kind of camping out, the way I live. Ha!

I've been without TV for about 17 years too. And I got rid of most of my furniture five years ago. It's great to have practically nothing, isn't it?

Is that right? Man, you and I are a lot alike. I had TV when I left the city. It was part of the rental. But since I moved here, I'm back in the hills & there's no signal. You have to have satellite dishes. I'm like "screw that" & I just went without
