Well, with the moon in Taurus, this gives me a strong Taurean flavor, at least, psychologically and emotionally. The Sun dictates the overt personality, the moon covers more of the inner side of the psyche. The rising sign is also heavily influential.

W/ Cancer rising, I am very empathic, I feel things very strongly. Aries & Sagittarius are good together. The Aries are the go getters, the initiators, with a "can do" attitude. Sags are a bit more laid back than Aries. They like to try things, take new roads

I'm not a strong believer in astrology but sometimes astrologers can read a person's personality traits with uncanny accuracy by doing a natal chart. I knew a few & studied it a little bit. I also became adept with the Tarot. I've dabbled in most everything

I wanted to learn the runes but never got around to it. Used to meditate a lot, shikantaza Zen style. Would meditate until my knees howled. Ha! But I got away from it. Meditation will mellow you out. But hell I'm mellow enough, now. Maybe too mellow.

All of these methods of seeking for enlightenment or higher consciousness & so on only result in more suffering in the end becuz they never deliver. I think the best way to happiness or, at least, staying calm, come from giving up the search & accepting it

(1) Well, as for me, that seeking for enlightenment did mean more suffering when I wans younger, say, until in my thirties or so, because in that process I really did want to find something to put an end to my suffering. Yes, I desperately wanted that.

(2) Then, as I grew older, I resigned and came to accept that all this seeking is futile. So, even though I do keep on seeking more knowledge and a sort of higher consciousness or something, I just enjoy the process while perfectly aware of the futility of it all.

(3) If all that has any meaning in it, it is enjoyable and better than mere sex or drugs or food. That's the way I am.

It's like the Four Noble Truths of the Buddha are accurate in their most simplest form. 1. Existence is suffering 2. The cause of suffering is desire 3. End suffering by ending desire 4. Think & act in accordance.
