No, it doesn't do anything but show how stupid people are. In war torn, impoverished countries, people breed like cockroaches. Suffering, horror, carnage has no effect on them. They are oblivous.

(1) In war-torn countries, there must be people who go so far as to procreate in order to produce fighters. Yes, they need soldiers to fight in their wars, and that's why they have children. I saw one such Vietnamese woman in Ken Burns' documentary "The Vietnam War."

(2) In the documentary, that Vietnamese interviewee is reminiscing about the Vietnam War years. She didn't want to get married. But a friend said to her, "If you don't get married and remain childless, then who will succeed to our war?" She agreed, got married, ...

Hitler would have admired her tenacity. I've read studies regarding areas hit with famine & disaster, people tend to breed more. They think there is something instinctual about it, the DNA senses the need to procreate more to overcome the adverse conditions.
