I had no idea Halloween was global. I guess global capitalism has sold it as a commodity thru out the world. It's rooted in medieval Europe. It seems weird to me that it is celebrated in New Zealand.

China is promoting Christmas in schools
(no Jebus of course, just like in the west)
in the hopes of establishing a consumer society
that can compete with Duh Homeland.

Jesus is real big here in the States. The word Christmas is "Christ Mass". Jesus seems to be on the rebound in the US. As humanity becomes more orally traditioned due to electronic media, tribalism of every kind is rebounding. Identity politics, especially.

Unfortunately I have to agree, the pathological need to belong, whether it be to Race, Religion, Nation or Ideology is exacerbated by digital media. Not that I don't understand the compulsion, its just that I have to much self-respect to allow the perversion of my subjectivity.

Most people are not aware of the effects of electronic media on their psyche & how it alters their sense ratios & mindset. It is dramatically different than the old print media, which was eye oriented. Electronic media is ear oriented. The change is vast.
