People will again hate you when you're truly hard-working. Don't be that diligent. It is only when you're appropriately lazy and slightly hard-working that people begin to love you as one of their own.

Are you talkin about at a place of employment? Someone who is working extra hard makes it bad for the other employees because then the boss wants everyone to work extra hard, too, all the time. The more work you do, the more work they will expect.

(1) Well, I'm not talking about a particular workplace. It doesn't matter whether you're self-employed and work all alone in your own home and all the others work in large companies or something like that. People will hate you anyway if you're extraordinarily diligent.

(2) People have been programmed since birth to hate those far more diligent than they are. They don't want to strive harder than they are normally inclined to. Most are lazy by nature as compared to some exceptional hard-workers.
