And why are all of the days of the week named after ancient pagan Norse & Germanic gods?

The Modern Chinese, on the other hand, call the days of the week this way: star period 1 (for Monday), star period 2 (for Tuesday), star period 3, and so on.

In America, I like Wednesday because that is Woden's Day. He was the one eyed god of the ancient Teutons who hung upside down on a tree for nine days until he gained much wisdom and so forth and so on.

Woden's Day, huh? Interesting.

Yeah. Thursday is Thor's Day. He was the son of god, Woden. He had a hammer and he was not afraid to use it. He would pound out thunder and lightning with it. A force to be reckoned with. They even make movies about him.
