Philipp Mainlander believed that God couldn't stand it & suicided Himself in a Big Bang-like explosion, creating the universe in the process. All the things of the universe are fragments of God in the process of dying out. Or, something to that effect.

God was the oneness that it came from, god tried to return to that oneness, being of nothingness. While everything alive exhibit will-to-live, everything beyond will-to-die, which governs everything alive.
