I wonder what the world would be be like if we could perfectly understand each other whenever we wanted. I don't mean speaking the same language, but to perfectly convey our thoughts, feelings, perspectives etc. to one another. Sounds like a Star Trek episode.

What if people could understand each other instantly and accurately thru telepathy, each one's genuine thoughts and feelings? We would descend into a chaotic, murderous hellscape the likes of which no one has ever imagined.

Yes, telepathy was what I had in mind (no pun intended). I figure there would be less strife given our consequent ability to empathize with one another so deeply. We might have been a single generation, having the sense to peacefully die out.

I figure if people could see unencumbered what others really think & feel about them, all hell would break loose. I know I don't want others, when I'm in public, to see what I'm really thinking & feeling because they're not going to like it, for the most part

I guess I was thinking of it as an innate ability. If we were born that way it would change our perspective from the beginning and there would hopefully be no more people born.

You might be right. I don't know. I was just giving a kind of knee jerk reaction to the idea. If we all had the innate ability to telepathically connect from the very beginning, perhaps empathy would be more prevalent & a tacit understanding of AN arise.

Antinatalism brings out a bizarre optimism in me. I guess it makes sense, pessimists are optimists worn down by the realities of the world. Antinatalism is a world of the hypothetical and optimism can be explored.

You're right about the freedom. For most of my 20s I was a blissful nihilist. I think as the reality of work drudgery til I maybe get to retire has given me a grimmer outlook.
