Today I paid a visit to the most famous grate in the world, southwest corner of 52nd and Lex, the one that Marilyn Monroe stood on top of. No plaque or sign or anything!

Yesterday's twitter fiasco handed the NY Post numerous perfect headlines on a platter, yet they go with this. Interesting.

I was today years old when I learned bass determined a track’s placement on vinyl. “Gabriel wanted to have "In Your Eyes" as the final track, but its prominent bassline meant it had to be placed earlier on the vinyl edition where the phonograph stylus had more room to vibrate.”

Another tidbit that sticks with me from the (forthcoming) episode of Death On The Lot about the 1945 Hollywood strike. While the Paramount lot was surrounded, picketers clashing with cops, execs were bunkered up inside emptying booze carts, partying, making out with each other.

This episode brought back my childhood. Loved these books as a kid (dolls too expensive). Did not realize there was a 90s girl now (a bit younger than me) who comes with a Book It! set...which is both accurate of my childhood and makes me feel so old....

This season we spoke with Ron Howard, James Cromwell (whose father was railroaded by the black list), family members of Sidney Poitier and Hattie McDaniel, Lee Grant (one of the last surviving HUAC targets) and many more. Proud of the incredible voices in this series.

Listened to this omw to the airport yesterday and now looking forward to reading 's book, which from the sound of it fills gaps in usually unsatisfying accounts of how we got from spring 1963 events in Birmingham to the Civil Rights Act over a year later

Another episode with @paulkix about the fateful spring of 1963. Here we go inside a heated meeting with RFK and Baldwin, Belafonte, and many more. It changed the course of the movement. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/thi
