We went to Hayward to get some groceries and a stop at @Walgreens because we had left Jess birth control at home. As Jess was checking out, cashier John told her he couldn’t sell her the condoms. “Oh I got them from over there.” “We can, but I won’t because of my faith.” 1/x

4. Appreciate your brain & body One single step moves more than 200 bones & 600 muscles in the human body, activating multiple brain functions for all of this to happen simultaneously. Next time you're out, admire the power and beauty of what you're doing. It's extraordinary.

Those motherf*****s really did it. First they came for Black voters, then they targeted LGBTQ+ families. Now, women of America, they’re overruling Roe v. Wade. We have to unite and strike back. Take to the streets. Overwhelm them at the ballot box. They have gone too damn far.

I’m SO INSPIRED seeing so many fabulous humans (ALL OF YOU!) advocating play. This is the future. Recent convo w our mutual hero Dr Stuart Brown: If we are to get along and survive as a species, it is absolutely essential we play, from birth to death. #ElevateTheConvo

A4.1: There are so many great play-based options for all ages that leverage #tech - in 10 years the possibilities with games, AR/VR etc. are broad. I hope that’s balanced by equal interest in unplugged play and connecting to nature. #ElevateTheConvo twitter.com/sspencerthomas…

There’s a REALLY misguided perception that play is “frivolous” and playful activity is beaten out of us in traditional edu and biz settings. Schools made for great (if depressed?) rule followers and assembly line workers, but shite for encouraging creativity #ElevateTheConvo

A2. Play also leads to flow states—"The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz” (Mihály Csíkszentmihályi) #ElevateTheConvo

One of my favorite quotes: This is the real secret of life - to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.” Alan Watts knew what’s up. Play can simply be a shift of perspective. #ElevateTheConvo

Q1: What do we mean by #play across the lifespan? What are some different forms of play? How do we define "play" and how does play change from infancy to older adulthood? #Wellbeing #MentalHealth #ElevateTheConvo

And I think the important thing is to remember "play" Doesn't just belong in childhood!! Laughter is truly the best medicine... think about how many times you laughed a day as a child and how many times you laugh as an adult. #WeNeedMoreLaughter #ElevateTheConvo

Stephen Colbert indicated Justice Breyer was "surprised" rather than upset at story of his resignation leaking though "it appears someone jumped the gun." Colbert added, "The gun, by the way, has more rights than women do under the current Supreme Court"

Descendants of hippos once owned by Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar should be legally recognized as people, or ‘interested persons,’ with legal rights in the US, a judge has ruled. trib.al/hzdXGPM

Gen Z is scary! They're coming for your "9 to 5." They hate your emojis. They're laughing at your jeans. And they're making things in the office political. It's my first Sunday Biz story and it's a dispatch from corporate America's generational wars nyti.ms/3CpUCgK
