It's also been around for 26 years. And free for 18 of those years. So if the entire industry hasn't shifted by now, it's unlikely to soon. Interesting that
@EmbarkStudios appears to be using it. Not sure what the "kinda exhausting" comment is about. -
For about twenty-three of those years, its sole virtue compared to Max/Maya was being free. It has only recently started to do some things dramatically better than Autodesk software.

Most studios I've been at are DCC friendly. Just want the FBX. Unless your game engine is tied to it I guess?

a lotta in house engines are tied to one or the other.

Switching from one soft to another is 0 problem. It's only a tool and if you can understand the process and you are confident in both technical and artistic aspects - tools can only have their 'magic' to help achieving final product. The same with game engines.
