    I hope Matt Hancock is OK and learns how hard it is for people to self isolate

    Today, I have written to urging him to make it easier for people to self-isolate, by paying their full wages & by providing support for dependants so they don't have to break the rules to care for someone else. We must make it easier for people to follow rules (2/2)

    Extending healthy life by five years will help the NHS to cope with our ageing society and enable more people to be independent for longer. Several important recommendations in our report would help to achieve this.

    Happy to take part in this enquiry. Many opportunities to improve health in old age but worrying disparities between the better off and worst off. This is something that needs serious attention.

    This is disgraceful. The government is trying to close down any negative reporting of the consequences of Brexit - even by a legitimate Parliamentary Committee

    This morning I have resigned from the Committee on the Future Relationship with Europe as we met to discuss our final report a number of unfamiliar Tory Members appeared whipped to vote our report down.Honoursble conduct?

    Some people are not able to self-isolate as they cannot afford to do so. A way help suppress the transmission of is for the Government to provide better financial support to the poorest who need to self-isolate says Baroness

    There will continue to be a Lords Committee that can look at this but there really needs to be a Select Committee of the elected house. This is ‘taking back control’ to a few ministers, not to Parliament.

    Boris’s supine support of loyalists who break the rules that other people are expected to obey makes him look weak and insecure. A confident PM would not feel he needed to rely on such people.

    Yesterday the Scottish Government removed the defence of ‘justifiable assault’ re violence against children. I hope the UK Govt will follow their example and remove the equivalent ‘reasonable chastisement’. I will continue to fight for that.

    Researchers at Stamford University found that 18 Trump election rallies resulted in a total of over 30,000 additional positive cases of COVID 19. This man has no regard for human life or anyone but himself. I hope the American people have the wisdom to roundly reject him tonight.
