This is key! Accepting reality and owning up to it is one of the best way to live. Be who you are and people will trust you more and love you more. Lie about it or build false and temporary defenses and you’ll hurt yourself. Thank you Jeff for highlighting this.

I met w founders today who said “we were acquihired into X” and loved the transparency and candor. Makes me want to back them even more.

Exactly - I thought the same thing when this founder gave me the honest response. I’d bet on him in the future.

Facts!! Just be honest and straight. Too many people are afraid of being honest with themselves. These phrases are ok: “I messed up, I lost, we aren’t going to make it. I need to improve.” If you cant tell me the truth I can’t help you. Own your shit! Let’s find solutions.
