Wikipedia is so weird about women. Theresa Greenfield is the Democratic candidate for Senate in Iowa and doesn't even have a Wikipedia page

it might have been some external entity, not wikipedia, holding the “make pages for notable women scientists” day. I can’t recall.

Often is. The British Library used to coordinate some "wikithons"

Ugh. I've created a bunch of pages for relatively obscure women athletes and never had any RfD'd that I know of, but it sure seems to be a problem with academics. I wonder if the criteria for different occupations are inherently biased or just being applied in a biased manner?
-
Biased application -- there are some pretty low level academics with Wikipedia pages.

I have a wikipedia page for being a moderately successful Magic: the Gathering player.

I got one for giving like two conference talks once, that I guess happened to appeal to an editor

When I tell people my career goal is to qualify for a Wikipedia page, I don’t think they realize how much that will probably actually entail for *me*

This is why, no matter how many nag banners, I don't donate to wikipedia.
-
I donated ages ago but haven't since the time some Wikipedia editor was caught claiming academic credentials they didn't have & the leadership were like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, but they deny women academics pages on notability
