I'm used to getting conference talk rejections, but I think the KubeCon & CloudNativeCon North America rejection I just received stings the most. Really thought I had an interesting, exciting, and topical submission. I realise it's not personal, but I got my hopes up I guess

I've put in two submissions in the past (both NodeConf). They said they wanted talks on these subjects (mine was), wanted new speakers (I am) and wanted speakers from non-Microsoft/AWS/Google (I am). Mine was rejected and all the talks announced were from big tech corps

Sorry to hear that. To be clear - I don't really envy the job of the KubeCon committee at @CloudNativeFdn/@linuxfoundation. They undoubtedly received an absolutely massive number of submissions, and it's very possible they didn't have the same opinion as me regarding my talk.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like
It's incredibly tough to balance the sheer number of proposals, and the desire to ensure a diverse (technically and socially), interesting, and topical array of talks. I can only hope that any slot I could've received instead went to a member of an underrepresented minority!
