Really enjoyed this blog post about quantum-limited amplifiers, although I am biased because it’s what I think about 24/7. Fun pros and cons list of JPCs vs. TWPAs, too.

Looks like IBM has turned up their Quantum Volume to 32... Q.V. is a benchmark is using for their quantum devices and is described here: .

A careful explanation can be found in this paper . You can use to explore and measure the Quantum Volume see this link

A big advance in quantum computing hardware: IBM has measured a Quantum Volume of 32 or log2(QV) = 5. *Roughly* the log2(QV), quantifies the largest random circuit of equal width & depth that the hardware successfully implements and is certifiably quantum.

If you've got some spare time the Sunday before starts this year, you might like this tutorial on "Noisy Quantum Devices". Organized by David McKay ( YKT), it should be fun and informative!

Once your high enough in the community you block your competitors, get a friend as a referee, they tell you they are a referee, they have a chat, tell you what to fix, faux review for editors, and you get a Nature or PRL. Then you return the favor. Seen it many times.

Especially now when it comes to scientific papers and peer review, it is a common practice to lobby against active competitors from refereeing. But what about the other direction? Do editors actively check for conflicts of interest and ask they be declared?

Objective non-bias will become harder and harder as financial interests and social praise are intertwined within this period of quantum industrialization. Declaring and disclosing stakes is a must.
