Can’t believe the news about Bert Borgmann. He was a key part of helping to make into a modern state association.
He was hired in 1988, and helped lead big change in the Association. He started the Hall of Fame. He oversaw most every sport by the time he retired in 2021.

(1) I've had more time than most I guess to reflect on what this man has meant to me, but I'll be feeling the impact he has had on my life, for the rest of my life.
The guy everyone sees for two hours on a Saturday afternoon can make anyone laugh, but it's that passion

For about 2 and a half years I had an idea swimming around in my head. Maybe you know the feeling. An idea that you *know* needs to find its way out. It was a concept that I wanted to create with one of the most talented people I know, .

When a Cody baseball team made a regional in Oregon, Leach drove a couple hours only a few weeks before the college season to give them a pregame speech about life and baseball. Good dude who meant a lot to a small town. RIP.

But Mike Leach was super involved in Cody Athletics. He donated money for a new turf field. Signed Texas Tech helmets were part of baseball fundraiser auctions.

Mike Leach was one of the most famous people from my home town. I had an old gym teacher in high school who loudly complained about cutting Leach from the varsity football team and how it probably cost him a college coaching gig.
