This essay was extremely painful to write, but I needed to tell my story. I’m not seeking redemption; I only want my side of what happened, how it happened, and where I am today, to go on record. The narrative has remained distorted, in a very public way, for too long.

This is the most bizarrely nutjob post you may ever feast eyes on. It has everything woke folks : conspiracy, intrigue, white supremacy, the Patriarchy, Russia and more! 🎪 Face it. You guys are dicks. STFU and own it at least. Or, just STFU.

  3. "Unethical activities." Such as? I was a shitty friend a decade and a half ago. I was a shitty drunk. I grew up. Like others who pile on me with this crap, you use purposely vague, unspecific language, intended to sound terrible and to cause people to fill in the blanks.

  6. So The Modernist Review lied when they said my work was removed because of concerns expressed by a board member? You were contacted by my "victims"—so vague. You were mobbed; you caved. You're cowards and liars.

He's "an AHRC funded PhD student at the University of Reading, working on Wyndham Lewis and the publishing industry." Publishing industry? He must have great insight on the subject as a censor. He's the moral equivalent of a book burner.

This is one of the cowardly editors of The Modernist Review. He thinks it's funny that my poem was accepted by his journal, published, and then removed because of my "public profile." They don't care about writing or writers. The has no integrity.

I received a copy of Hugh Kenner's The Art of Poetry today (Kenner was a wildly brilliant critic and scholar of poetry), and I was struck by the title. The ART of poetry. ART. It almost seems old-fashioned, when so much poetry now is artless political/tribal signaling.

I saw my doctor today and when I asked her if I’m dying, she laughed at me. I am not dying. Look at me, I’m a hypochondriac glowing with renewed vitality.

If the artist's work is interesting and of superior quality, I don't care about the artist's personal life. They've tapped into something beyond them, beyond their ego. That said, I enjoy biographies; but they don't make or break my appreciation for great art.

Reminds me of a comment a militant feminist made to me in e-mail after I gave a poetry reading years ago. She told me I should banter less between poems "because your overt masculinity is enough of a distraction." Go figure.

That is very beautiful. Art is not bound by the political whims of obscure little magazines. Art is vast and huge. It flows. The gift is always in motion.
