The issue that dare not speak its name: is Biden too old ? His folks bridle - noting Bernie + Warren are also both in 70s - and voters often turn to euphemisms But it comes up time and time again w @katieglueck >https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/29/us/politics/joe-biden-age.html …

There is 1 political observer who’s less restrained on his view of Biden’s fitness: Donald J. Trump. Pitching some labor officials in the WH, Trump tapped on the side of his forehead and said Biden is “losing it” Fires back @JohnMorganESQ: “Can you see Donald Trump jogging?”

As they prep for this debate, the Biden folks are getting lots of unsolicited advice. Including two suggestions evoking Reagan: 1) Borrow his “there you go again” line from ‘80. 2) A version of his second debate recovery v Mondale in ‘84 on his rival’s “youth + inexperience”

But to be clear: while Biden folks always enjoy the wealth of advice they get from his half-century of political friends, they recognize doing ole Dutch Reagan homage may not be course in deflecting age questions.

Yes, it's always a great idea to not only recycle one-liners from previous debates, but to give them away to political reporters in advance

Also, people love hearing lines that were hacky more than 30 years ago. Have they considered "where's the beef?"

The fact that they still think of Reagan so much speaks to proof they are too out of touch with the modern political era. For all the talk about Warren and Sanders being as old, they weren’t in office all that time, and they are tuned to current sensibilities.
